“On January 4, 2011, President Obama and Congress passed the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act into law. The measure reflects a significant change in our nation’s food safety laws. The legislation mandates preventive measures by growers, processors and distributors, provides for increased inspections and gives FDA greater regulatory authorities.
